Newcraighall coillery
The colloquial name of the Newcraighall coillery was the Klondyke pit. The word Klondyke has two meanings: old fashioned, or bountiful. The latter is mostly used in Canada only. Which is interesting because most of Canada was populated by Scottish settlers. Nowadays you will see few remnants of the Klondyke pit.
