I was sure that this building had been demolished until I revisited the area. I think what they've done is to demolish the brick building then rebuild part of it using the old bricks. If you look at previous pictures you'll see that the windows in the round section used to be in a spiral, as befits a spiral staircase. | |

Further east along the canal bank, looking back towards what remains of the brewery. To the north west three cranes are poised over the new Springside development. There's going to be quite an increase in population in this area. | |

There aren't many people about in the winter sunshine but this area is already popular and will be getting much busier soon. | |

There's a bit of a conflict of interest here. The bird on the right may have just realised that its companion got the better deal. | |

East Fountainbridge connects the West Port to Fountainbridge at the junction of Lothian Road and Earl Grey Street. This building is probably its most attractive feature. There's a short street called Riego Street which leads to the local job centre at High Riggs. |
