The Co-op's offices and travel agent business were here until comparatively recently. The brick building on previous pages was behind here. This building is opposite the old Palais. | |

The new and the old on the south side of Fountainbridge, travelling west past Gardner's Crescent on the right. (Freer Street used to be near here.) McEwan's brewery still stands, but not for much longer. | |

A computer-rendered, artist's impression of - how it'll look once the box-like 'Apartments, Commercial and Leisure' buildings are finished - stands in front of the bulldozers. The new homes should have nice views over the Union Canal at the south side and over the city to the north. |

The bridge crosses the Western Approach Road, as does the Gardner's Crescent bridge, just visible in front of the round conference centre building in Morrison Street. | |

The population density of this part of Edinburgh is likely to increase significantly with this area being redeveloped, as well as nearby Springside. | |

Along the road and round the corner is Grove Street, which connects Fountainbridge to Morrison Street. This is a second shot of the building above, taken with the ultrawide lens on my Pentax *ist DSLR. | |

On the diagonally opposite corner of the bridge mentioned above, is this small triangular house, currently available to rent. |
