The Art of Star Wars exhibition has been running here for some time. This is a view of the building as seen from the roof of Princes Mall, across the top of Waverley Station. The two panels picturing the robot are each three storeys high.

The second picture is zoomed back to reveal the Scotsman building which has been converted to a hotel following The Scotsman newspaper's relocation to Holyrood Road. The hotel retains the name, unlike the nearby Balmoral Hotel which was formerly the North British Hotel.

Also taken from the roof of Princes Mall (previously Waveley Market) is this view of The Mound and Edinburgh Castle, behind the trees of Princes Street Gardens. In the foreground is Waverley Bridge where two vintage double decker buses are waiting for visitors to take a city tour.

Unlike the buses pictured above, this one doesn't have an open top - just as well in view of the weather outside. This is Princes Street with South Charlotte Street on the right.

The lane leading from the St James Centre to St Andrew Square, adjacent to the Harvey Nichols store. All the shops are still unoccupied, but nevertheless are cool and have style - according to the signs.

The Duke of Wellington points the way (roughly in the direction of Arthur's Seat) while the Balmoral Hotel towers overhead. The sky in this photograph has been 'enhanced' with a circular gradient fill.

A local train enters the tunnel under the Mound leading to East Princes Street Gardens. The National Gallery of Scotland sits astride the tunnel. Major construction work is under way there, largely hidden from view.

In West Register Street near the east end of Princes Street is this classic eating and drinking establishment. More info on this and other Edinburgh pubs from Night B4.

This picture and the next one have lots of detail. Consequently the files are quite large. Seen here are the shell of the old GPO building, the Balmoral Hotel, the castle rock, the Caledonian Hotel, Murrayfield rugby ground and the main railway west.

Princes Street is 1.28 Kilometres or about 0.8 miles in length from Leith Street to the West End. In this shot the camera has been panned slightly to the right revealing the hotch-potch of rooves on the street's north side. Corstorphine Hill is in the background.
