Photosynthetic organic material reflects more infrared light than inorganic
surfaces, hence the snowy effect seen with grass and leaves etc. |

In the foreground is the small grassy area at the corner of Marchmont
Road and Melville Drive, next to the pedestrian crossing to Jawbone Walk.
It's covered in dandelions in this picture now that the daffodils are finished. |

Melville Drive is on the right. Ahead lies the footpath / running track
which runs parallel. The line of trees on the left in the middle distance
is Middle Meadow Walk. |

Clouds seem to reflect infrared light as well as leaves but blue sky
appears quite dark. This magnificent tree is opposite Melville Terrace. |

This is the footpath leading from the Marchmont Road / Melville Drive
junction up Bruntsfield Links towards Whitehouse Loan and Bruntsfield.
In 2006 signs appeared naming this path as Leamington Walk. |
