Photographed just before 5pm early in December. The sun had set but there was still some skylight and a bright full moon. Down below the slopes of Allermuir, at the right of the picture are the bright lights of the A720 city bypass as it heads below the A70 Lanark Road before curving away westwards past Wester Hailes and Sighthill.

Zooming back a little reveals the upmarket housing project built on the grounds of the former Princess Margaret Rose Hospital. A fence separates the houses from the trees on the ridge. Only 55M of trees separates these Margaret Rose streets from Galachlawside and other streets at Buckstone.
A long lens view (~180mm) of Salisbury Crags and Arthur's Seat. Allermuir is the highest Pentland Hill overlooking Edinburgh. Fife lies across the Firth of Forth.
