Computer Rendered Images and Animations

| A still image taken from an animation in which the virtual camera flys through the 3D letters. | ||
| Again, a still image from an animation. The keys on the keyboard undulate in a slow sine wave. The .avi files are about 18MB in size when rendered at 640 x 480 size. You can see a lower resolution version of the complete animation at YouTube. | ||
| In order to reduce the file size, I've converted this model into a Flash animation. Those of you who don't have and don't want the Flash plugin shouldn't click on this. Because this is vector-drawn it can be any size you like. | ||
| The High Court has been adorned with feathery green fronds in this psychedelic treatment. | ||

This Dylan song title makes anagrams such as Hate seeing that machinery and I'm threatening a cheesy hat and also this one. Click on the link to start the Flash animation. I used Anagram Genius software to do the anagrams.
| Photographs of cameras I use are rendered with other images to make a sort of representative self portrait. | ||
| A variation on the above theme with backgrounds composed of various photos merged together. The mirror globes are also semi-transparent in this version. All the images used are elsewhere on the website except the cameras, two of which are missing - although their handiwork is nonetheless represented! I'll add the Yashica and Nikon next time... | ||
| This is what can happen if you experiment... | ||
| I said I'd make spam into an art form; here's my first efforts. Hit F11 to toggle full-screen mode in most browsers. Turn off IE's horrible shrink mode. Click yer mouse wheel if you've got one. | ||
| More digital doodlings. Art imitates life where nothing is wasted (except possibly the author) and all of the bits (Binary digITS) are recycled into ones and zeroes for an unintended purpose. Recycled SPAM. | ||

Like the Flash file above, this has no fixed dimensions. Animated waves travel through the text.
| Two 3D rendered models of the word 'psychedelic' done in psychedelic fashion. This one's got a bump map and coloured lights. | ||
| This image is the same size in pixels as my current main monitor and looks its best (or worst depending on your point of view) in its native resolution. The file size is large due to the detail. | ||
| Also on the wallpapers page, meant for use by technicians in a PC Clinic, are 2 rendered 3D wireframe models. | ||
| Where the previous one had fine jets, this one has a liquid layer. I made the mesh bumpy by adding virtual noise. | ||

Another animated anagram rearranging RENDERED IMAGES to RARE GEMS INDEED, ENERGISED DREAM and DEAR DESIGNER ME. |

In this animation which I uploaded to YouTube, the virtual camera follows a mirrored sphere through 3D rendered letters spelling computer rendering.
Finally an excellent YouTube animation which isn't my work, but which deserves
to be shown here.
It features Escher's impossible staircase.
