Patie's Hill, Pentland Ridge, Permissive Path

	Patie's Hill 1024 x 768 134K	From Spittal Farm, west of Ninemileburn, the signposted public right-of-way leads up here, before descending again to North Esk Reservoir. The farmer is giving the sheep some kind of dietary supplement.

	Pentlands 1976 1024 x 670 98K	I can't remember taking this, but it looks like it was taken from a hill somewhere behind Newtongrange. Bilston Glen colliery and Gilmerton Pit bing are both visible.

	Ridge mist 1280 x 742 290K	This morning there's mist lapping over Turnhouse Hill as a result of the haar drifting off the North Sea.
	Pentland Ridge (Castleknowe) 1152 x 864 162K	In this view the ridge is seen from the north east end with Turnhouse Hill hiding all of Carnethy and most of Scald Law. The main valley stretches ahead with Glencorse and Loganlea reservoirs visible.

	Ridge Sunset 4 1152 x 864 87K	Taken from the same spot on top of Caerketton as Caerketton Misty 08 and featuring the same fence. It's a fine clear evening and this time the camera is facing south west across the glen and along the main ridge.
	Ridge 2006 November 1280 x 851 251K	The main ridge stretches out into the distance. To the right is Capelaw with a few sheep dotted about. The path in the foreground leads from the Howden Glen / Castlelaw track along the side of Capelaw to Phantom's Cleuch.
	Ridge 2007 October 1280 x 854 274K	From near the summit of Allermuir the ground drops away quite steeply in this wide angle view of the ridge. I'm pleased with how my Pentax *ist coped with this into-the-light shot with the sun low over Black Hill.
	Ridge 2008 February 1280 x 854 99K	Receding into the distance the hills are as follows, starting at the right: Capelaw, Harbour Hill, Bell's Hill, Black Hill. The pointed hill in the left distance is West Kip. East Kip is to its left and the flat top of Scald Law is at the left edge of the picture.
	Permissive Path 1024 x 768 304K	Absolutely nothing to do with the 'swinging sixties' or the Permissive Society. This path is between Torduff and Clubbiedean Reservoirs and leads up to the main path to Bonaly Reservoir.
	Phantom's Cleugh 1152 x 864 199k	The path from Glencorse Reservoir to Bonaly passes through here. You can see the rusty old War Department sign standing beside the path. Strangely, there are about 8 people standing beside it as if it were a bus stop.

	Illegal 1280 x 850 210K	These scumbags are on the main path from Bonaly Reservoir to Glencorse. Harbour Hill is on the right. Their faces were concealed. They're breaking laws galore and threatening walkers, highland cattle, sheep and lambs. Sunday 9th May 2010 4pm.

	Paraglider 3 1152 x 864 167K	At 5.30pm on a September evening we chanced upon this person flying effortlessly to and fro along the ridge of Caerketton Hill. The Braid Hills and Blackford Hill can be seen far below. In the distance on the right can be seen Salisbury Crags. Further away beyond Leith's shore is the Firth of Forth and Inchkeith Island.
	Paraglider 6 1152 x 864 178K	Behind the paraglider are the Forth Bridges. In the distance to the north are the Ochil Hills, with yet more hills visible further west.
	Paraglider 8 1152 x 864 83K	There are no landmarks in this shot, only sky and a rather relaxed looking pilot, sitting comfortably with crossed ankles.
	Red Moss 800 x 600 84K	This is a nature reserve with a boarded path above the raised bog.
