Saucer-sized hollows in the surface of the snow. These have apparently been created by the sun. The grass at the top of the picture gives an indication of scale.

Photographed on 28th February 2001 on the footpath up to Bonaly Reservoir. The wind has sculpted the drifted snow into stepped contours. The exposed heather plants give an indication of scale.

Up at Bonaly Reservoir the snow has been blown into the water as the water was freezing, giving this fascinating creamy / cloudy consistency.
