Viper's-bugloss (Echium vulgare). It was growing on sandy soil close to a salt marsh at Aberlady Bay. Grateful thanks to Chris Boyd for identifying it for us.

Layers of green on red. These rocks are on the shore near Dunbar golf course. The strata in this area consists mainly of tilted sedimentary rocks. The shell is 3cm - 4cm across.
