A personal favourite. Shot on Kodak Infra Red monochrome 35mm film. The island of Inchkeith stands out very clearly in infrared light.

This time I turned the camera slightly west and Kinghorn is visible over in Fife on the north side of the Firth of Forth.

Not so much a picture of Leith as one of some of its young population in the late 1970s.

A time-exposure of a few seconds through a 350mm lens - on a sturdy tripod. The old railway bridge over the bottom end of Leith Walk, next to Jane Street, is clearly visible.

The Waterfront. An excellent bar and restaurant, so I'm told. Thanks to all those who emailed me with the name of this establishment.

This is how it used to look, back in 1978. That's Leith Walk along at the end of the road. The arches were part of the railway, which crossed Leith Walk on the bridge adjacent to Jane Street.

Update 2001 from Lee Kindness: "...(actually the photo is mainly of Gordon Street) and you mention that it's 'as it used to look' - well, after walking down there this morning (I live there) I can vouch that's basically how it looks now... crap bingo and all!" Thanks, Lee.
