	Middlefield 540 x 864 106K	Leith Walk, the long road down from Edinburgh's East End (of Princes Street) to Great Junction Street consists of numerous small streets joined together in a more or less straight line. Middlefield is one of them. The tower block is Inchkeith Court in Spey Terrace. The ugly concrete structure on the left is Shrubhill House.
	Ray Smith 698 x 640 108K	"Ray Smith has left Leith Walk (before the yuppies move in)." says this unusual printed notice in a shop door. This was a firm specialising in ICE (InCarAudio) and I would have thought that the yuppies might have had cars crying out for CD jukeboxes etc.
	Flour Mill from Nelson Monument 1152 x 864 220K	It was a windy day when I took this picture of Leith as seen from the top of the Nelson Monument on Calton Hill. The sunshine has made the white flour mill buildings stand out against the backdrop of the Firth of Forth.
	Morrisons 627 x 833 143K	This distinctive building has recently had a green and yellow paint job. It's quite far down Leith Walk on the left hand side.
	Snail Mail 1152 x 864 253K	The first commercial use of the phrase that I've seen. It does have its advantages over email, no-one can deny. Reminds me of the Neil Innes song 'Face Mail in the Meat Zone'.
	Arthur Street 1152 x 864 176K	A nice paint job enhances the curves of the stonework at this Leith Walk corner. Confusingly, Leith Walk includes Union Place, Greenside Place, Antigua Street, Baxter's Place, Gayfield Place, Elm Row, Haddington Place, Croall Place, Brunswick Place, Shrub Place, Albert Place, Crighton Place, Middlefield and maybe others.
	Platinum Point 1152 x 864 281K	A new housing development which will undoubtedly do as the sign says and provide a new perspective on Edinburgh. The other sign proclaims 'an exclusive development of apartments, duplexes and penthouses'. Great things are afoot, we are assured.
	a luxurious lifestyle 1152 x 864 152K	Further east on Ocean Drive is this view towards Western Harbour. A long blue fence borders the north side of the road. The fence is adorned with the promise of a luxurious lifestyle (on the other side of the fence).
	George Brown Building 1152 x 864 233K	Previously featured in RedCarBlueDoor in Leith page 7. The June sunshine shows the immaculate, white-painted brickwork off to full advantage.
