	Castle Trades 800 x 538 125K	The Castle Trades Hotel was a hostel for 'down-and-outs' in the Grassmarket.
	Salvation Army 1024 x 527 82K	Now belonging to Edinburgh College of Art. Attractive stone lettering in an art-deco style reminiscent of canal bridge name signs in Amsterdam.
	Salvation Army 2009 1280 x 901 281K	ECA must have needed the money because they've sold it off. It's currently one of the city's growing number of hostels.
	The Vennel 554 x 768 112K	Because the sunlight revealed so much detail, I thought it worthwhile making a larger version available. It's 1024 x 1420 pixels and 256K in filesize. It's a picture I'm rather fond of and only saw for the first time recently. It's never been printed and was probably taken in 1977.
	Vennel 2 1024 x 768 140K	This time the viewpoint is on the Vennel, with Edinburgh Castle visible at top right.
	Vennel 3 1024 x 768 206K	Looking down the steps to the Grassmarket. The triangular grids of metal are the supports for the seats for the Tattoo on the castle's esplanade.
	Vennel 4 513 x 768 112K	This was taken at the bottom of the Vennel, from the Grassmarket. The beer bottle just happened to be there; I didn't put it there - honest!
	Grassmarket 800 x 600 116K	Taken from the bottom of the Vennel, this colour shot shows Edinburgh Castle in the background. The gentleman at the bus stop probably didn't realise my wide-angle lens would capture him.
	Heriot's 514 x 768 143K	George Heriot's school is at the top of the picture. Below, and in front is a variety of architecture.
