	Mound 2 576 x 768 97K	Up a close at the top of The Mound.
	Old Fishmarket Close 607 x 768 101K	One of the numerous closes off the High Street. This leads down to the Cowgate. In the early '60s the steps at the corner once led to Bungy's Beat Club. On Saturday nights it was supposed to be open from 7pm until 7am the following morning.

	East Market St 1024 x 582 180K	The arches below Jeffrey Street are adorned with this graffiti which seems to be depicting a prostitute with a ball and chain. The clue is in the word 'pimp' in 6 feet high letters.

	Jeffrey Street 06 767 x 1024 242K	Jeffrey Street is up above the East Market Street arches. It curves to the left to adjoin the High Street / Canongate at the top of St Mary's Street. Cranston Street (to the left of the arches) also joins up with the Canongate.
	Deacon Brodie's 1024 x 768 229K	Near the top of the Royal Mile at the corner of the Lawnmarket and Bank Street is this famous pub. This was a favourite haunt of mine in the '60s.
	Deacon Brodie's 03 893 x 1024 285K	A wider view looking north west across the granite setts. The paucity of traffic is due to the High Street being closed to traffic in February 2006.
	The Hub 1024 x 768 245K	At the corner of Johnston Terrace and Castlehill. A former church is now The Hub, a sort of visitor centre. The coloured paving slabs caught my eye.
	Cockburn St 3 1024 x 768 177K	Fleshmarket Close leads up from Market Street. To the right of Avalanche Records is a take-away food shop which, for decades, was a pet shop.
	Cockburn St 5 576 x 768 115K	This interesting building was previously featured on Royal Mile page 2. The shop is Mind Body Spirit aka Crystal Clear. Photograph taken on my first digital camera, a Nikon Coolpix. It only had 1.2 Megapixels but its wide angle lens was equivalent to a 24mm lens on a 35mm film camera. 	Tron Kirk Hunter Square 1024 x 768 157K	Another wide angle shot, this time of Hunter Square - facing north and showing almost all of the Tron Kirk, plus a glimpse of the High Street and the corner of South Bridge.
