	New Palace 537 x 768 88K	This is in the High Street near the World's End pub and the Museum of Childhood, opposite John Knox's house. Originally a cinema, it was McGoo's in the 1960's when I saw The Who perform there.
	Niddry St 800 x 723 163K	To the left, behind the hoarding, is the vacant site now occupied by a hotel.
	Tollbooth 509 x 768 88K	Old Tollbooth Wynd leading from the Royal Mile down to Calton Road. Regent Road and the former Royal High School are above, in the distance, on Calton Hill.
	Geo IV Br 800 x 560 113	Graffiti outside the public library on George IV Bridge. Observe the alteration of grammatical tense from present to past. Photographed in the late '70s after the LSD trial. See Albion Dreaming: A Popular History of LSD in Britain by Andy Roberts (Hardcover - 30 Sep 2008).
	St Giles St 800 x 608 78K	A fish-eye lens photograph of the steps leading down from St Giles Street at the back of the old Sheriff Court (Near the Bank of Scotland). Market Street and Waverley Bridge are at the bottom.
	High St 1979 574 x 768 87K	Part of Edinburgh's Royal Mile, guarded by a traffic warden. The pavements are considerably narrower and the road wider than today, not nearly so pedestrian-friendly. This part is between the Tron and St Giles.
	Cowgate St Mary's St 729 x 768 95K	Taken Jan2000 from the steps leading down from High School Yards into the Cowgate. Saint Mary's Street leads up the hill to the left, the short distance to the crossroads formed by it, the High Street, Jeffrey Street and the Canongate.
	Holyrood Rd 0 450 x 600 51K	Once east of St Mary's Street and the Pleasance, the Cowgate becomes Holyrood Rood. The next few pictures are all taken from here. "Work in Progress" must be the theme here. Major changes are taking place in Edinburgh. Turn your back for five minutes and you won't recognise it.
