Slateford, Union Canal part 2

	Viaduct Aqueduct 1024 x 768 194K	Looking south-east towards Slateford Road from the new section of the Water of Leith Walkway, underneath the railway viaduct and Union Canal aqueduct. The visitor centre opposite the Tickled Trout pub has interactive models demonstrating flood plains etc.

	Slateford Yard 1024 x 768 177K	My map indicates Back Row as the actual name. This is between the railway viaduct and the Union Canal aqueduct where they cross Inglis Green Road and the Water of Leith.

	Slateford 1024 x 768 111K	The railway line passes below Slateford Road here. Steps lead down to Wardlaw Terrace. The brick building is a small brewery.
	Telfer Subway 1152 x 864 185K	A footpath connects Dundee Street to Orwell Terrace passing below the busy West Approach Road. The pedestrian underpass predates the road - which was built on the old railway lines to the Caledonian Station at Edinburgh's West End.

	The Diggers Angle Pk Ter 00 754 x 1024 319K	A popular pub which gets its name from Dalry Cemetery across the road on the north side of Henderson Terrace. Photo taken from the footpath to Dundee Terrace.
	Angle Pk Ter 01 768 x 1024 197K	A good example of the two-tone stonework used in many of Edinburgh's tenements. This road, Angle Park Terrace forms the southern hypotenuse of a triangle with Ardmillan Terrace and Henderson Terrace forming the right-angle where Gorgie Road meets Dalry Road.

	Ashley Terrace 856 x 1024 208K	The path is really now a private road leading to the railway yard between Meggetland and Slateford Road at the Hutchison area. This is the view up to the bridge at Shandon Place / Ashley Terrace.
	Ashley Terrace canal bridge 1280 x 854 303K	Cycling under some of the canal bridges has an element of risk, most cyclists ping their bells to warn other cyclists and pedestrians of their approach. It would be easy to fall into the water if not careful!
	Caledonian Brewery 1152 x 864 218K	Good beer comes from here. I'm getting thirsty just thinking about it...
	Redhall - canal view east 1280 x 850 361K	The canalside path is tarmac now to better cope with walkers and cyclists, whose numbers have grown as commuters switch from cars and buses. A December Sunday means it isn't busy.
	Swan 03 1280 x 877 218K	Further east towards the city centre there were a few swans near the Meggetland area.
